My aunt Unay, who was visiting created the artistic name plates of each of our dish. Featured here: Andrea writing some of the bites names on cards!

I am going to collaborate with Caffe Torino of Seattle this summer again for an event. We are thinking of an aperitivo evening – a late afternoon event of drinks and bites. We tested some of the combination recipes with the owner of Caffe Torino, Andrea this past weekend.

This is what a sample plate may look like. Featured here are some bites!

At the event we try to get feedback about which bites to feature in the plate for the summer. We are thinking of offering 12 bites of Turkish/Italian small hand hold-able dishes.

My favorite summer drink: Aperol Spritz!

The bites will be served with Italian cocktails. When I first saw an Aperol Spritz, I mistook it for Fanta + Prosecco. In fact it is 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts aperol + 1 part sparkling water. Aperol Spritz cocktails are perfect for the summer (or spring).

This gives you a sense of the range we featured at the tasting – from Italian bites to Turkish ones!

We are attempting to combine traditional Italian bites with Turkish ones – one example would be Turkish circassian chicken Crostinis or featuring small dolmas with Italian bites. All fresh and perfect for the summer.
