This is a very old song. Those of you who grew up in Turkey, in late 90s will remember this from the opening credits of Okan Bayulgen’s then talk show. This song came up in a recent evening of music listening and it brought back memories.
A couple fun facts about the band:
Name comes from a type of bootleg moonshine whose consumption apparently resulted in a few drunkens climbing up a tree and refusing to come down (the newspaper later calling these folks: Squirrel Nut Zippers)
Also named after the featured caramel dating back to late 19th century
They are currently touring, will perform at the Montreal Jazz festival.
